Support the OUR Center Food Program this weekend with the National Letter Carriers' Association "Stamp Out Hunger" drive!

                                                       
Longmont Postal Workers will be collecting non-perishable food at mailboxes on Saturday, May 8.  Simply leave a box or bag of food by your mailbox, and your carrier will pick it up for delivery to the OUR Center.  It's an easy way to help!

Last year's drive resulted in 15,600 pounds of food collected - let's top this to meet the ever-growing need for stable food for our community members!

Increasing Needs Means More Trips to Buy Groceries                                                                   
The OUR Center needs help to accommodate the increasing numbers of people being served in our Hot Lunch Program.  For as little as $50/month, you can support this program to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.  This sponsorship is open to anyone - individuals, businesses, churches, service clubs, foundations, etc. - and anyone who commits to $200/month for a year will have their name listed on our Sponsor wall in OUR Hospitality Center.

Introducing the "Hair for Hunger" Challenge!  Local resident Jim Lytton has been growing his hair for the OUR Center since January.  His goal is $10,000 for the OUR Center Food Program!  If this grassroots effort reaches his goal, Jim will have his head shaved at our August 19 golf tournament.  Become part of the challenge!

CHILD CARE CONTRIBUTION TAX CREDIT

 

Save 50% on your Colorado State Taxes 

Donations to OUR Center may be designated to OUR Child Care Center to qualify for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit, resulting in up to a 50% credit on your state tax liability, provided you make the donation by December 31, 2010. Help low-income families be able to work or continue their education, assured of high-quality, individualized childcare.

CITIZENS' OPTION TO PROVIDE ENERGY (COPE)

 

You Can Help People COPE

COPE (Citizens' Option to Provide Energy) allows you to provide financial assistance to families in Longmont by making a one-time or monthly contribution or rounding up your month utility bill through the City of Longmont. All funds collected are distributed by the OUR Center to those citizens that qualify.  Please consider becoming involved in this "neighbor helping neighbor" program.  Call the City of Longmont at 303-651-8664 for more information.  Donations are tax-deductible.
